Guillaume Bresso embodies this excellence. With a PhD in Anthropology and Art History, he combines advanced academic training, extensive fieldwork in Mexico (Oaxaca, Palenque, Campeche), and a unique practice of reproducing ancient works for scientific purposes. Co-founder of the Ateliers Leonis, he masters the gestures, techniques, and materials of ancient artists, giving him exceptional ability to detect even the most sophisticated forgeries.
His research focuses on the cosmogony, rituals, and symbolism of Mesoamerican cultures (Maya, Mixtec, Olmec, Chupícuaro, Colima, Teotihuacan, Jaina…) as well as Mesopotamian, and tribal art. Author of numerous scientific publications and reference works, he brings a rare multidisciplinary perspective to each appraisal: iconographic analysis, technical study, archaeological contextualization, and interpretation of scientific reports (thermoluminescence and OSL).
